Without Further Ado....TWINKIETUSH.COM :)

After more than a year of research, 2 different web developers, several months of testing, and countless hours of revisions, we are SO excited to introduce you to twinkietush.com!

Developing our site was no easy task. We had several obstacles and challenges along the way trying to incorporate all of our learnings from Hyena Cart and Big Cartel. We cannot thank you enough for all your patience and input while we built our site.

In building the site, we believe we have solved many of the issues we have experienced with our cart systems thus far. The most exciting and important feature we want to share is this: there is no longer any need to refresh your browsers when waiting for an item to become available either initially or from a pending status!

Now, when you are on a specific listing's page and you do not see the Add to Cart button, three possibilities exist:

1. The item is not yet available.

 - If it's more than 1 hour from the available time, the date and time of availability will be posted.

 - If it's 60 minutes or less from the available time, there will be a countdown clock running. When that clock reaches 0:00:00, the Add to Cart button will automatically appear. Refreshing is not necessary! :)

2. The item is carted by another shopper.

- In this scenario, you will see the window of time in which the item may become available for sale again. If the item is not purchased by the original customer, the Add to Cart button will automatically appear. Refreshing is not necessary! :)

3. The item is sold out.


We understand that not refreshing will take some getting used to, but we truly believe this will help everyone have an equal opportunity to cart items successfully at stockings. Refreshing your browser, while on a specific item's page, will in fact lessen your chances of successfully carting the item.


A few other features of the site we want to make mention of here include:

- A real time clock that is running dynamically on the site (no need to refresh for the current time)

 - Shoppers will have 10 minutes to complete their transaction before the carted item is placed back into the available inventory. A countdown clock for each item is present in the buyer's shopping cart, and a message providing a specific window of time that the item may become available again is shown on the listing page for all remaining shoppers.

- Item statuses are shown on the product main pages as well as the All Items page for quick reference. You do not need to go into the specific item page to see if it is available for purchase. However these pages do need to be refreshed to see status changes.

- Past Items will now be saved and viewable in the Past Items category.

- A major change to note with the new cart system is that shipping addresses must now be changed during the checkout process on twinkietush.com - NOT IN PAYPAL. Once you reach PayPal, no changes should be made. Any attempt to change a shipping address or order information once in PayPal may result in your losing the item.


Over the next couple days, we encourage you create your user accounts (a free user account is required for purchasing) and browse the site! We anticipate that you will have questions and we're here to answer them. Please either email us at info@twinkietush.com or post on our Facebook wall. :)  After a couple of days, we plan to begin putting items into the store to begin beta testing the site. Some of these listings may be for testing only, some may be for actual items. We will announce any test or "real" stocked items on our Facebook fan page. Once we are comfortable with the results of this beta testing, all twinkie tush items will be sold through the new website!

Good morning and Happy Wednesday!  Today is the last day to vote for your favorite in the November 2012 Photo Contest - make sure to take a look! <3

I wanted to share a few notes about today's stocking, including the new Bundles category link, and to touch base about our production increase and website progress! :)

As we continue to increase production, this week offering 104 ready to ship diapers for example, we will be able to offer more bundles/sibling sets! :)  For that reason we've opened a category on our Big Cartel shop called Bundles.  Here is the direct link: http://twinkietush.bigcartel.com/category/bundles.  (All other category links can be found at the end of this blog post.)  This week we are offering Holiday Bundles, including a Big Elf Little Elf sibling set and 2 Christmas Day 3-packs!

You will also notice, beginning this week, that we are no longer going to be able to show individual preview photos on small scale or simple repeat stripe prints, simplify or night-nights.  I love showing photos of each exact diaper, but the additional time required in photographing, creating listings, and packaging is substantial. For certain prints I know how important it will be to continue to see exact cuts, and for now we will continue to make sure that happens! :)  Diapers like Hot Diggity Dog and Kitty J'Adore from this week will continue to be shown individually. :)

Here are some examples of prints/stripes which will no longer be shown individually.  In these cases we will show a single diaper which will stand as a representation of the print or colorway.

As we approach our production goals for late 2012, we are taking on hundreds more customs each month in the form of groups and mini groups and we have almost tripled production for weekly stockings!  While our stockings are still relatively competitive, we find we are much closer to meeting the demand for our diapers and that is SUCH a good feeling!  I hope you are finding stockings and group custom drawings more enjoyable and less frustrating, and know that we still aren't at what I would consider full production.  More is on the way, and we are always listening to your feedback to make sure we're on target with just what you're looking for! :)

A word on Group Customs: As December approaches (how did that happen so fast??) we want to share a change with regards to large groups.  We have, for quite a while now, asked that you stick to 2 groups per household.  Beginning in December, please feel free to participate in up to 3 groups per household! :)  Mike and I are working on tweaking the GC process to help things run more smoothly post-drawings.  We'll have more info on that for you before next month's drawings!

We have been waiting a long time for the launch of twinkietush.com and I know you have as well!  We are incredibly close to opening the site up to you for beta testing, which I am beyond excited about!  We are still working through some coding challenges and appreciate your continued patience with this process.  Our needs are so specific and, I have learned, fairly complicated!  We are in great hands with our developers and  they want to make sure everything is running beautifully before we launch.  :)

November 2012 Photo Contest! :)

Good morning! :)  It’s been way too long since we held a photo contest!  So let’s remedy that!

We are holding a photo contest this month – it begins today!  Photo contests are very special to me.  So much love goes into making our diapers and wool, and so much love comes back to us through your beautiful photos.  Thank you in advance for sharing them with us!!

Here are the photo contest details:

The contest will be open for submissions from today, 11/8, through Sunday 11/25.  That gives you exactly 17 days to get your entries in!  It is a shorter window than we usually give, so don’t put off taking those photos if you want yours to be included in the contest! :)  The winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 28th, at 10pm EST. Please read below for important details on how to win. There will be a first place and a second place winner as follows:

- First place takes home their choice of:

(a) a FREE custom twinkie tush diaper of their choice (based on availability of desired fabric, and SYOF is of course an option as well). Shipping of the diaper is also free. (Please note that the custom diaper will ship 4-6 weeks after a final print decision is made or SYO fabric is received.)

                OR

(b) an ULTIMATE Dibs Pass, which entitles them to select a single diaper during previews and take it home FREE, with free shipping as well.  This ULTIMATE Dibs Pass would be valid on any preview day in December 2012.  (Please note that occasionally there is a print offered that is not able to be claimed by a dibs pass.)  More info about Dibs Passes is below.

- Second place winner will be given the opportunity to choose between:

(a) an individual custom slot (priced at $36 for SYOF or within our normal pricing structure for an in stock print, with FREE shipping.  (Please note that the custom diaper will ship 4-6 weeks after a final print decision is made or SYO fabric is received.)

OR

(b) a standard Dibs Pass which will allow them to select a single diaper to purchase at regular price on any one preview day in December 2012 without having to attend the stocking.  This prize also includes free shipping! - We will also draw an additional standard Dibs Pass winner at random from all photo contest participants at the close of the contest!  (This random.org Dibs Pass entitles the recipient to claim a diaper during previews and purchase it prior to stocking at regular price and with regular associated shipping costs.  This random.org Dibs Pass will be valid on any one preview day in December 2012.)

So now that we’ve covered prizes, here is the process:

To enter, simply submit a photo of your little one(s) in a twinkie tush diaper or twinkie tush wool. Hair clips and headbands by Hello Charlotte James for twinkie tush, twinkie tush/Hazelbee dress collaborations and/or T shirts by Peanut & Pumpkin for twinkie tush are of course welcome to be part of the photos, however a twinkie tush diaper or twinkie tush woolies must be featured.

Feel free to be as creative as possible - extra consideration will always be given for creativity! (Try to play off the "theme" of your diaper or woolies - you can use accessories and props to really amp it up - a guitar, an alien toy, a bouquet of flowers....) A simple approach is fine as well - creativity is just one of the things that will be considered.

Photos can be sent to photocontest@twinkietush.com. By submitting a photo you are giving twinkie tush permission to use your photo to promote or represent twinkie tush diapers and/or twinkie tush wool on this blog, the twinkie tush shop on Hyena Cart, the soon to be launched twinkietush.com, twinkie tush advertisements on HC and elsewhere, and the twinkie tush facebook pages.  Please do not submit a photo if you do not agree to these terms. :)

Submissions will be closed on Sunday 11/25/12 at 11:59pm EST. On Monday 11/26 we will upload all submissions to a photo album on the main twinkie tush facebook page called "November 2012 photo contest!" At that point, the contest really gets exciting!

First place will be awarded to the photo *in the "November 2012 photo contest" album* that we feel best reflects the spirit of twinkie tush and the spirit of the individual diaper(s) pictured. Creativity, photo composition, brand reflection and of course FUN are some of the things that will be considered. :) Mike and I will choose the first place winner, and we will announce the winner at 10pm EST on Wednesday, November 28th.

Second place will go to the photo in the "November 2012 photo contest" album that receives the most "likes".  Please note that "likes" on photos outside of the specified album will not count as votes for that photo. You, and your friends and family, may "like" multiple photos if you choose (you don't have to pick just one). Comments are welcome of course, but will not count towards a photo's "tally". Since it is possible to "like" and then "unlike" something on facebook, we will go with the count as it is at exactly 10pm EST on Wednesday, November 28th.

An important note: you cannot win both first and second place ;) While the number of "likes" a photo has will neither ensure a first place win nor preclude it from taking said prize, fan feedback is something that Mike and I may take into consideration to at least some extent in making our decision on a first place winner. In the event that we choose the "highest likes" photo for first place, that photo is no longer eligible to take a second place win. In other words if photo A has the highest number with 200 likes and photo B has 199 likes, and we choose photo A as our first place winner, second place will go to photo B. If we choose photo B, or any other photo in the album, as our first place winner, second place will go to photo A.  Please feel free to ask questions about this if it is at all unclear! :)

Please note that only one (1) first place and one (1) second place prize will be awarded.  Should you collaborate with another family to enter a submission you would need to settle the allocation of the prize between yourselves in the event that you win. 

Please note that you may enter only one (1) photo per household for this contest. Also note that photos must clearly show your twinkie tush diaper(s) and/or twinkie tush wool and must not be offensive in any way (obviously). Please send full size/high res images rather than "email" or "thumbnail" sizes.

If there is a problem with your submission you will receive an email response with suggestions on how to resubmit if applicable. If your submission is accepted you will receive a confirmation email within 48 hours. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 48 hours please email again to confirm receipt, in case for some reason your initial email did not come through successfully.

More about Dibs Passes

How do you use your Dibs Pass? A Dibs Pass is a way to bypass the stocking itself – you need only comment on a preview photo on facebook by 10pm EST on preview day with something to the effect of “I am going to use my dibs pass for one of these diapers”, and then follow up with an email to info@twinkietush.com so that we can show you specific cuts and/or velour options, if applicable. You will then check out with a private link. (Certain prints may not be claim-able via Dibs Pass or Ultimate Dibs Pass and that will be stated during previews. Additionally with certain prints only one Dibs Pass may be used, on a first come first served basis. Again that will be stated along with the preview photos. )  Standard Dibs Passes offer no discount on the claimed diaper.  The retail price and associated shipping costs will be due upon checkout (unless free shipping is specified along with the prize).  A Dibs Pass entitles you to claim a single diaper for purchase within the date parameters given above.

About the Ultimate Dibs Pass:

The Ultimate Dibs Pass is like a regular Dibs Pass, but entitles the winner not just to claim a diaper for purchase, but to take it home for free.  The process for using the pass is the same, but rather than checking out with a private link you will simply supply your shipping address.  An Ultimate Dibs Pass entitles you to claim a single diaper at no cost within the date parameters given above.

Dibs passes are non-transferable and hold no monetary value.

It's that time again! :)  Group Custom drawings for the month of October will take place on Saturday 10/27. The thread will go up on facebook at approximately 3pm EST and will stay open for 5 minutes only! :)

The official twinkie tush mini group post!

What is a twinkie tush mini group? :)

At our stockings and occasionally via drawing, we offer 3 person mini group send your own fabric (SYOF) slots.  

Pricing:

The cost for a one size or little tush diaper within a mini group is $38 if the group has elected standard or non-specific centered bum cutting.  If a member chooses a teenie tush diaper their cost is $30.

The cost for a *SPECIFIC BUM CUT* or "FUSSY" mini group is $43 per OS or little tush and $35 for teenie tush.  Members must all agree that a group is either standard, non-specific centered, or specific/fussy.  If a mini group is a specific/fussy group the group name MUST contain one of those words, and in that same vein please keep those words far away from your group if you are a standard or non-specific centered bum group.  If you request even one specific cut you will be invoiced at the higher rate.

Please note the different fabric requirements for different types of cutting within a mini group, in "process" below.  Thank you!

The mini group deposit is purchased by one member.  The deposit is $38 plus shipping (the cost of one individual diaper.)  In the event that the member who purchases the slot elects to order a teenie tush diaper they will be refunded the $8 price adjustment.

Policies:

All diapers will be made with the (single) KNIT outer print sent in by the group.  The 3 completed diapers will ship 4-6 weeks after receipt of fabric.  There is no limitation on the number of diapers per family within the group and there is no limitation on the number of groups you can participate in each month! :)

Each group member may choose either a turned or serged fitted cloth diaper.  Each member may choose one size, little tush, or teenie tush.  All velour will be uniform among the 3 diapers.  If your group chooses cotton velour and has a color preference, please communicate it via email when sending in group member info.  We will accommodate the group's cv color preference if possible.  If it is not possible, I will choose another color at my discretion.

All diapers will be made with standard twinkie tush materials and will have the standard twinkie tush fold-down rise snap set-up.

All fabric sent in for groups and mini groups becomes property of twinkie tush.

It is not required that you have a mini group formed before purchasing a slot.  You may choose to form groups before purchasing the slots, or you may purchase a slot and then invite 2 other customers to join your mini group (or simply purchase all 3 diapers for yourself).  Please note that group member information is due within 24 hours of purchasing the slot.

The group member who purchases the slot becomes the group leader.

Process:

After paying the deposit for your slot, please communicate the type of diapers you would like, as well as cv color preference if applicable, by emailing groupcustoms@twinkietush.com. Also please include your mini group name (which can be anything) and member info (name, email address, name as it appears in paypal, paypal email address, finishing style choice, and sizing choice).  This information is due within 24 hours of securing the slot so that we can begin to process your group order.  Please cc all group members on this email.

After we receive your email we will reply to all with payment links for all remaining group members.  Those individual payments will be due within 48 hours.

Mini groups will then need to send in a minimum of one yard of a KNIT print, minimum 58" width.  Please note that if your fabric arrives and is not of sufficient size we reserve the right to cancel your group order.  Please make sure to include your group name with your fabric, either on an enclosed note or in the return address field on your package label.

Please note the different fabric requirements for different types of cutting within a mini group:

- Standard cutting requires one yard of a KNIT print, minimum 58" wide.

- Non-specific centered bum cutting (ie we center an element of the print on each bum at our discretion) requires 1.5 continuous yards, minimum 58" wide.

- Specific or "fussy" cutting requires 2 continuous yards, minimum 58" wide.

- If your fabric is 55-57" wide, we require 1.5 continuous yards for standard cutting, 2 yards for non-specific centered, and 2.5 yards for specific centered bums.

NO exceptions will be made to these requirements.  Please do not email us asking if we can accommodate a 27" piece of fabric, or if we can get specific bums out of 1.5 yards.

The fabric you send in will become property of twinkie tush and any extra fabric will be used at our discretion.

All custom diapers will be made with the standard twinkie tush materials.  As I mentioned above, I will try to accommodate requests for specific cotton velour colors based on availability, should you have a preference. Snap and thread colors will be decided by me.

Mini group diapers will ship 4-6 weeks after receipt of your fabric!

This will serve as the official twinkie tush mini group post, so that we have everything in one place! :)  Should we make any changes to the process, we will edit this post to reflect them.

At 2pm EST the diapers will appear and be available for sale.  Scroll down the category page to find your diaper.

Diapers will be organized as follows:

So in other words, if you are looking for Queen of Hearts with natural obv, turned, you would scroll until you see the Queen of Hearts grouping in the one size turned category and click on the last diaper in the series.


When you've found your diaper, follow these steps to check out:

- Once in the listing, click the “Add to Cart” button at the top of the item description.

- Once in your cart, please choose your country for shipping (either United States or Canada) and click “Checkout”. Clicking “Update Order” is not necessary as shipping will be automatically added in PayPal. Clicking “Update Order” will slow your transaction potentially allowing another shopper to secure the diaper so you need only click “Checkout” once your country is selected.

- This will bring you to the paypal portal where you will enter your paypal username and password to process payment. Once you've reached the paypal portal your diaper is secure for 30 minutes.  However, if you linger too long in paypal your session can time out and you will lose your cart contents.

- Once in paypal, please complete all payment steps to receive an order confirmation that completes your transaction.

Please note that the diaper is not secure until you have clicked the “Checkout” button and are taken to the paypal portal for payment. Once at the paypal portal, you have 30 minutes to complete payment before the diaper automatically relists itself (unless, as mentioned above, our pp session times out).

A few things to remember about Big Cartel stockings:

- We are not able to manually "dump" carts. We wish we were! 30 minutes is a very long time. On HC the carts dump at 10 minutes, for reference. If you cart a diaper you do not wish to purchase, we ask that you please remove it from your cart immediately so that another shopper can cart it.

- We are not able to see who has what in their cart like we are on HC. Therefore until payment is completed we will not know the fate of any given diaper and will not be able to assist with cart issues.

- In terms of longer term consideration, something to note about BC is that we cannot save listings, even on the seller side.  So you would not be able to refer back to listings as you have been on HC.

- If you live in the United States, only First Class shipping without insurance can be purchased on BC. Those who want Priority Mail and/or insurance are asked to email us within 30 minutes of checkout so that we can invoice you for the additional cost. Insurance is not required but is always recommended. We are very sorry that we cannot offer this option at stocking - we certainly would like to be able to.

- If you live outside of the United States: International packages including Canadian shipments can only be shipped via first class mail, no insurance. International customers outside of Canada should simply select Canada and then email us to finalize costs.

- Drawings are not available on BC and will be done on facebook. Keep an eye on the facebook page - I will let you know when drawings will be up!

Some updates on mini groups, group shipping, and more!

In addition to sharing that the wish list will be reopening, I have a few other things to make you aware of today! :)

First, about mini groups: as we continue to increase our production capabilities, we are able to take on more mini groups than ever before, which I am SO excited about!  In order to further increase efficiency we will be following the same process and policy we now follow with large groups in regards to velour color selection.  For mini groups, all 3 diapers will still need to be made with the same velour (that part is different than large groups, where you can choose cv or obv individually).  When you send in your mini group information, please also include any velour preference your group has (eg "cv,any color but black," "obv", or "pink cv if possible").  I will always accommodate requests if at all possible!  If the color you request is not available or if it looks really off with the print I will let you know and I will go in another direction, but 9 out of 10 times I will be able to do exactly what you'd like.  As always, snap and thread colors will be decided by me.

Also re: mini groups, for the time being we're going to ask that you limit yourselves to participation in 2 mini groups per month per household.  This includes stocked mini group slots as well as drawings.  In other words, even if you don't purchase the slot yourself, if you are in a mini group it counts as one of your 2 per month.  We want to make sure that we are giving everyone a fair opportunity to secure a slot, without imposing too many limitations.  We will very likely lift this limit in the future, but I know there are a lot of frustrated customers who have been holding onto a yard of fabric and a group of 3 for a very long time.  Just like we work to make large group custom drawings fair, we want to do the same thing for minis.  :)  This begins this current month and goes by the calendar month (ie if you have not yet participated in a mini this month you can purchase 2 mini group slots on 10/31 and .2 on 11/7 but then you are out for November.)

In the spirit of this intention of fairness, tomorrow (Saturday) morning I will be posting a newbie-only mini group drawing on facebook!  The drawing will run for at least 24 hours.  We ask that you only participate if you have never previously taken part in a *mini* group (you may enter if you have previously participated in large groups).  This was suggested by one of our customers and we thought it was a wonderful idea!  In order to ensure that only those new to minis will be participating, we ask that you form groups ahead of the drawing and list group members by first name in your entry.  Each group member may enter (for a total of 3 entries per group) and we ask that for this drawing you only participate in one mini group per household.  In other words your name may appear 3 times in the drawing thread, once written by you and once by each of your fellow group members.  Please identify your group by a group name when entering (it can be as simple as mini group Z or a more elaborate name if you choose). Again please let us know if you have questions about this!


A few other important notes:

1 - With groups and mini groups, individual shipping payments will now be made within 2 weeks of the slot being purchased.  If we are ready to ship your diaper (anywhere from 2-6 weeks, most commonly 4-6 weeks, after receipt of fabric) and you have not paid for shipping, we will send periodic reminder emails over a period of 3 weeks.  At the end of the 3 week grace period, we will refund the group leader for your individual diaper and we will offer the diaper for sale in our chosen method.  Thank you for your help in making sure we get diapers out on a timely basis! :)

2 - Along with our expansion and move into our new production space, we have had new patterns and templates made.  While our patterns have not changed in any significant way at all, you may notice a very slight narrowing of the front portion of the crotch in our one size pattern.  This very minor modification is based on the feedback we've received over the past 2 years.  You may not notice it at all, but I wanted to make mention of it! :)  Additionally, you may or may not notice a very slight increase in soaker length.  Again this is an intentional change based on feedback and is slight enough that you may not even see a difference.

3 - An update on twinkietush.com!  The site is coming along beautifully and we are incredibly excited for its launch!  We are getting closer by the day!  We have taken many of your suggestions and requests into account in its design and function, and our web developers have gone above and beyond in making the site more than we ever imagined it could be.  We will of course have more information for you as the site becomes ready for us, but for now I just wanted to share my excitement at its progress! :)

The twinkie tush Wish List will reopen this weekend!

I am so excited to share with you that we are about to re-open the twinkie tush Wish List!  This will happen sometime in the next 24 hours - keep an eye on facebook for the announcement! :)

Our last Wish List diaper was sent to a mama who wished for some girly goodness!  We sent a print which has yet to be stocked - a new personal favorite of mine!  <3  I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see wished for diapers delivered to our fans!

I am practically giddy to open the list again and draw another winner!  Please read over the information below carefully for instructions, and check out the original Wish List post for info about how all of this came to be! :)

When we open the wish list, you may send an email to wishlist@twinkietush.com (please note the new address this time around) with your name in the subject field.  (Your name must be in the subject for your email to enter the drawing.)  In your email you must include the following information, using something similar to the format below:

Full name (again)

Current shipping address

Your wish!  This is where you tell us about your dream twinkie tush diaper!  It can be as specific or unspecific as you like. Please see the examples below for more info.

After we close the wish list (opening and closing times will be announced on facebook and the wish list will always be open for at least 24 hours), we will draw a name at random.  This may happen immediately or a few days or weeks after the wish list is closed, depending on our workload.  We will open that person's email and read about their wish.  If it is something we can do, we will make them their dream twinkie tush diaper!  We will cover all costs, including shipping, and we will not notify the winner that their diaper is on the way.  It will just show up at the winner's door! :)  We will always send a wished for diaper within 3 months of the wish.  Please make sure your submitted address is accurate and usable for up to 3 months after sending your email.  If you have a sudden change of address please email us with "WISH LIST - address change - (your name)" in the subject line.

Bear in mind that the less specific your dream twinkie tush diaper wish is, the more likely we will be to have the necessary supplies on hand! ;)  If you only say "When Pigs Fly with peach cv, serged", for example, we might have to draw another winner as we don't have that print on hand at present.  But if you say "When Pigs Fly with peach cv would be my ultimate dream twinkie tush diaper but I love anything with pigs or elephants!" we could defiintely work with that! :)  Here are some examples of wish list emails:

September Group Custom info, including some important updates!

We will be drawing groups this Sunday evening for the September Group Custom slots! :)  Please read the information below thoroughly so that you don't miss any important components!   Even if you are experienced with our Group Custom process please read through this post as there are some key changes this month. :)

*If you are new to twinkie tush, welcome!  Please note that this is not the only way to purchase one of our diapers. ;)  Read this page for lots of basic twinkie tush information!

Additionally please note that this process is as complex as it is ONLY in order to meet the needs of customers, both new and returning.  It is designed to be fair, not to be purposefully maddening. ;)

We are planning to post the September Group Custom entry thread on facebook this coming Sunday (9/30) between 8:30 and 9:30pm eastern.  (The thread will then be open for 5 minutes only.)

We ask that you continue to stick to a maximum of 2 groups per household.  We are going to be strict about this - if we notice someone in more than 2 groups that individual will be removed from all groups.  That means that if one of their groups wins a drawing the group win will stand but the individual will be disqualified.  Please help us keep this fair for everyone! :)

When the entry thread goes up on facebook, please comment on the thread to enter your team!  You may only enter on behalf of one group (but may appear in up to 2 groups).  Your entries should look like these, in which the flying whizbees are entering for the first time in the current month and the skullies have entered in two previous months as well as in the current month:

The email must contain a link to a google spreadsheet or an attached Excel spreadsheet (please do not C&P in the body of the email) containing the following information for each group member:

2 - Member name as it appears in paypal account

3 - Member contact email

4 - Member paypal email

5 - serged or turned preference.

6 – sizing preference (one size, little tush, or teenie tush)

7 - individual choice of cotton velour or organic bamboo velour (more info on this new addition below)

If any of those elements are missing (no team name in subject, any info missing from the spreadsheet, missing team member cc's, etc.) your group will not be eligible to obtain the slot. (This is just to keep things fair.)  We recommend reviewing your spreadsheets shortly before 8:30 on Sunday to double-check that everything is present and that your spreadsheet matches your planned facebook entry. :)

Once the entry time has expired, we will review all information and announce the eligible groups for the month. We will then hold 2 drawings as follows:

Drawing 1: Every team that has entered for at least 3 months, including the current month, will be entered in this drawing.

* Each team in this drawing will receive one entry slot for each month they've entered. That means if you've entered for 3 months including the current month, your team is given 3 entries. So for example if there are 5 eligible teams for this drawing and they all have entered for 3 months, with the exception of teams Abby and Darkside who have each entered 4 times, the entry list would look like this:

Drawing 2: Every team who successfully submitted their information in full is entered in this drawing, with the winning team again being selected by random.org.

* For this drawing, all teams receive 1 entry slot regardless of the number of months they've entered, giving an equal chance to all who are enter whether they are brand new or have been entering for several months.

Occasionally we will do more than 2 drawings, either before or after the two described above.  As we continue to increase production we will begin to draw more groups each month! :)

Please note that even an attempted entry counts when tallying your group's number of entries. In other words if your group got the email and FB comment in within the alloted time for a given month, it counts even if some info was missing and your group wasn't entered in the drawing(s).

The information below covers general Group Custom policies to keep in mind as you are forming your groups.  Please note that some of this has changed this month:

* If your group is selected you will then receive a confirmation email in response to the email you sent in. That email will contain a link to your group custom slot, which will be available for purchase at the store. You will have 24 hours to purchase the slot. If a group fails to purchase the slot in time a new drawing will take place using the same list and a second winner will be drawn.  The price will be the total for all diapers in the group, and shipping will not be included but will be paid at a later time.

*Anyone from the group can email us, as long as they are willing and able to serve as group rep (the person who collects payments from other group members and communicates with me about velour preferences, etc.) The group rep is also responsible for forwarding information from us to the group as needed and assuring that the group is aware of payment deadlines, etc. Please do not email on behalf of your group unless you are willing to take on the group rep responsibility.

*All members of the group must be copied on the initial email so that we can reach individual members if needed.

*Once the spot is purchased it is reserved and you can send your fabric in as quickly or slowly as you like! The listing will include the cost of the diapers but not the cost of shipping to each individual group member.

*After the group rep pays for the group listing, each individual group member will need to pay individually for their shipping cost. This is not something that needs to be done to reserve your spot but it will need to be done in order for us to ship you your diapers ;) This system is just to facilitate an easier and smoother shipping process on our end which means you getting your diapers more quickly!  After your slot is paid for we will send an email to the group or group rep with a link to a store listing where you can pay for shipping individually.  We will now be sending the shipping payment links out within one week of group custom slot purchase.  Diapers will ship 4-6 weeks after fabric is received.

*After purchasing the slot, the group will send us (at the group's cost) adequate yardage of the chosen print fabric and all diapers will be cut from that yardage. All other materials will of course be provided by twinkie tush.  As you saw above, we will now be offering group members the choice of cv or obv for individual diapers.  For obv we will only be using the natural color, and for cv I will choose a color that coordinates with your print.  Only one color of cv will be used per group (in other words please don't designate specific individual colors on your spreadsheet). It is fine for a group rep to share a group's velour preference (eg "we'd really love aqua cv if it works" or "we definitely don't want black" or "something light as opposed to dark") but please note that final cv decisions will be made by me.  If you express a preference for a color that doesn't work well with the print I will not proceed with it.  However, if you say "we definitely don't want X color" I will of course honor that.  I will always do my best to accommodate velour color requests!  Any requests made by the group must be shared with us BEFORE we receive your fabric.  If you have not made a request by the time we receive your fabric, I will choose the color that I feel works best with your print! :)
Please do not ask for specific snap or thread colors as we are not able to accommodate these requests.  Thank you for your understanding!

*We are no longer able to return Group Custom fabric.  All fabric submitted for Group Customs will become property of twinkie tush.

     - Please note that we will price diapers made with remaining Group Custom fabric according to the cost of the fabric (based within our current pricing structure).  This is something that has been requested of us by previous groups and we recognize that it is the most fair way to handle pricing.

* Group size can range from 5-10 people. Each group member will choose between a serged or turned diaper. We do not recommend serging with woven fabrics. The price will be $36 + shipping per each one size or little tush diaper and $28 + shipping per each teenie tush diaper.  Please note that serged/turned and sizing preferences must be finalized *prior* to entering your groups.  We will make copies of group spreadsheets via screenshot after winners are drawn and all diapers will be made as dictated by the spreadsheet screenshot.

*We are now opening up the Group Custom entry process to groups that are seeking SYOF twinkie tush night-nights.  Your group will need to provide several yards of velour (7 yards for a group of 10, as an example).  While we are not able to help groups extensively in the search for cotton velour or organic bamboo velour we will require that your velour choice be approved before it is sent in.  We require this to ensure that it is of the highest quality so that we feel comfortable using it to make twinkie tush night-nights, and can stand behind the absorbency.  The cost per person for a Group Custom twinkie tush night-night will be $40 plus shipping.  Night-nights are only available in our one size (OS) pattern.

*All diapers will ship out to the group members 4-6 weeks after we receive the fabric (pending shipping payments of course).

While we are becoming more strict and streamlined with certain parts of the process, this is enabling us to move towards much higher production levels for Group Customs!  We anticipate drawing more groups every month going forward!  As always, please let us know if you have any questions about any of this, and thank you so much!  See you Sunday evening! :)

Expansion details!

Over the past few weeks you’ve probably seen me mention an expansion for twinkie tush.  Today I’m ready to give you details! :)

Let me begin by reflecting on the growth of the company thus far, specifically over the past year.

As you may know, twinkie tush launched in December of 2010.  We stocked 30 or so diapers on Hyena Cart every 2 weeks.  In those early days I did everything myself, and I quickly learned that I could not meet the demand alone.  Over a short period of time we grew to add a few part-time team members who cut fabric and operated our snap presses out of their own homes as well as ours.  Mike took on a larger role and while twinkie tush remained a WAHM-owned company (and still is today), he became a General Manager and CFO. :)  We joke that he works for me but the truth is that our business partnership has deepened and strengthened our marriage and I am so grateful to have him by my side as we grow twinkie tush.

Last August I wrote a blog post which indicated what we hoped to accomplish in the near future. I am very happy to be able to say that we have made huge progress on all goals and exceeded most of them.  In the past year we have increased production as we set out to, introduced stretch fleece in knits and longer wings in woven diapers, introduced the twinkie tush night-night and twinkie tush little tush, and we’re on the verge of rolling out the twinkie tush teenie tush, our newborn line!  Additionally, we are incredibly close to launching our own website, www.twinkietush.com.

Now we find we are at a jumping off place.  We have grown too large for our house in terms of storage and production needs, and we have increased production all we can with part-time team members and me working at home.  A few months ago Mike and I had a very serious discussion about the next steps for twinkie tush.  We both feel passionately about the company’s continued growth and we decided to follow our instincts and begin to research expansion costs and logistics.   We secured our first investors and a production space, and we began looking for a full-time team of employees.  I am thrilled to report that we are on schedule for the expansion – our space is being prepared for a mid September move-in.  Our team will begin training mid September and you should begin to see the promised production increase sometime in October!  We want to move efficiently through the next few months but first and foremost we want to be meticulous in ensuring the quality you have come to expect from twinkie tush.  For that reason, stockings in September may be lighter and we may even need to take another week or two off so that I can devote myself to getting the new production space up and running.

As you can probably imagine, this expansion has a substantial impact on our operating costs.  From offering a fair living wage to our employees to the expense of leasing and maintaining a production space, we are looking at a huge change in overhead.  The only way we can maintain this increased level of production is by adjusting our pricing structure.  Mike and I talked at length about the best way to handle this and we both felt strongly that it was important to offer multiple price points rather than to increase prices across the board.  It has always been extremely important to me that we be open and honest about pricing and that we only adjust prices as needed.  Currently, things like Euro knits and exceptionally expensive prints are priced higher.  We have only ever adjusted prices like that based on what we pay for the prints themselves.  While our pricing changes now are based on increased production costs, it is in that same spirit that we will change pricing as follows:

One size and little tush prints

At stockings there will be 4 price points for one size and little tush prints (there are currently 3). 

Level One: $35. 

Less expensive (level one) prints will be priced at $35, so that we can continue to offer multiple prints each week at that price point.  Some examples of prints in that price point are Johnny Blue Eyes, Botany, Amelie, and Landslide (among many others).

Level Two: $42. 

Next level (level two) prints will be priced at $42.  Most of these will be imports, some domestic, that cost much more for us to buy than the level one prints.  Examples of prints in that price point are Invasion, Boardwalk, Aphrodite, and Strong-Arm (again, among many others). 

Level Three: $45. 

We will continue to offer Euro knits and other more expensive imports, and those will be our level three prints.  Examples include Two by Two, Travels with Friends, Tell No Tales, and Duchess.  These prints will be priced at $45. 

Level Four: $48. 

And finally, there will still be offered, on rare occasions, diapers made with extremely expensive prints.  These diapers, most of which were previously offered at our highest ever price point of $45, will now be $48.  Examples are Any Colour You Like, Mutiny, Round Table, and Seeker.  These prints are extremely hard to find and extremely expensive, which dictates this highest price point.

We will follow a similar structure with the twinkie tush teenie tush, offering price points of $27, $29, $32, and $35.

twinkie tush night-nights will now be priced at $43, with a diaper from the Wildest Dreams series occasionally popping up at a stocking and priced at $48.

Customs

We won’t be able to offer a discount for customs any longer as they actually require more in terms of time and production than stocked diapers do.  Customs, whether individual, mini group, or large group, both in stock and SYOF, will be priced at $36 for one size and little tush and $28 for teenie tush.  SYOF twinkie tush night-nights (offered via Group Customs) will be priced at $40.

Shipping and Handling

In addition to these price adjustments, the cost of shipping and handling will go up $0.25 across the board.

Wool and HCJ 

Wool and HCJ prices will not change with this expansion.

While we know we need to make these pricing adjustments in order to facilitate our expansion, we are very happy to be offering 60-65% of our diapers, including in stock and customs, at the $35-$36 price points and we hope that this new structure works well for everyone.

We plan to introduce a few changes and new product lines over the next several months:

1 – First and foremost, you can expect to see a significant increase in production over the next 2-4 months!  We will focus first on offering more ready to ship diapers at stockings, which is what the majority of you told us you prioritized most when asked on the facebook page.  We are so excited to know that that will make stockings more pleasurable for all!  Once we have established increased availability at stockings we will work on increasing opportunities for large groups and mini groups! We are looking at a very large total production increase which will mean more and more opportunities to purchase twinkie tush diapers of all kinds!

2 – We will be launching www.twinkietush.com within the next couple of months, further improving the stocking experience and making all aspects of the brand more accessible and user-friendly!

3 – We hope to decrease turn-around time on large and mini group customs over the next few months.  We are currently at 4-6 weeks and hope to cut that down if at all possible.  More information on that will be forthcoming!

4 – In order to increase efficiency with what is anticipated to be a much larger number of group customs, we will no longer be able to return extra fabric for large and mini group orders.  All fabric sent in for groups, large or small, will become property of twinkie tush.  We will provide specific information via the blog by September’s Group Custom drawings so that you can tell exactly how much fabric you will need to send in for your group, based on width and directionality.

5 – By popular request, replacement soakers will be offered in the very near future!  They will be priced at $17.

6 – We will introduce the “twinkie tush simplify” line of cotton velour solids within the next 3-6 months!  These diapers will be $35.

7 – We plan to offer accessories like wipes, wet bags and blankets over the next year as well. :)

Amid all of these changes, there are many things about our company that will not change with this expansion.  Our open communication and accessibility will not change.  Our attention to quality and record of exceptional customer service will not change.  We will continue to do things like the twinkie tush wish list, photo contests and random.org drawings, and will explore the possibility of future theme stockings and fan page trivia.  We hope to extend our charitable contributions further in the next year, finding more ways to make a difference for families and organizations that we feel we can help. 

Over the next few months you will hear more about the expansion, and I will share more about the production space and twinkie tush team!  To say I am excited about this move wouldn’t begin to describe it.  I find myself choked up thinking of the growth of what began as a small WAHM company, named in honor of our then 16 month old twins.  I found that the work I put forth was loved and appreciated and it made me want to do more, and better.  From the very beginning the twinkie tush brand has included a community of the most amazing customer families I ever could have imagined, and that community continues to grow and inspire and support and challenge me.  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your part in the growth of twinkie tush.  For holding me accountable for a beautiful, quality product, and for your support, your warmth, your creativity, your positivity and humor.  It is you who makes all of this possible, and I don’t have the words to adequately thank you for it.

August Group Custom info!

We will be holding drawings for August Group Customs this coming Sunday evening (8/26)!  The entry thread will go up on facebook sometime between 8:15 and 9:15pm EST, and will stay up for 5 minutes only.

This will have to be a lighter month for groups as we are in the midst of our company expansion (yay!) and need to scale back a bit temporarily.  However we are very hopeful that by next month’s drawings we will be able to start increasing the number of groups we draw each month!

Impromptu photo contest of sorts

As we are getting further along into building twinkietush.com I am in the process of choosing an image for the new site's landing page.  We have a ton of amazing past photo contest entries that we are considering for the site, but I'd love a new, slightly different kind of shot for the landing page.  To that end, I wanted to share a quick impromptu photo submission request.  This won't be a formal contest with multiple prizes, but the winner's photo will be featured prominently on twinkietush.com and the winner will receive an Ultimate Dibs Pass (a Dibs Pass that entitles you to a FREE diaper on preview day!  More info below.)

We'll accept photos from now through August 15th, sent to twinkietush@gmail.com with "photo submission" in the subject line - that means just under 2 weeks to get your photo(s) in.  Then we'll share our top few picks on facebook and ask for community feedback.  We will not necessarily choose the photo with the most likes but we do want opinions to help us make the choice!  The winning photo will be the first thing you see when you go to twinkietush.com once the site is up and running! :)

Now, as for what kind of photo we are looking for: normally with photo contests we encourage entrants to play up the theme of their diaper, which results in some seriously awesome photos.  While we aren't discouraging you from that this time, we want the focus to shift a bit for this specific submission.  We would love to see photos focused on twinkie tush branding, nature, connection, peace, fun, or family.  I highly recommend taking your camera and your little diaper model(s) outside for this one, or using natural light inside. :)  Also, keep an eye on the diaper and make sure it is well featured since that will be something we're really looking for!

*Edited Monday 8/6 to add: the twinkie tush label does not need to be visible in your photo.  It is only important that the diaper is featured well in terms of branding.  A wide shot which includes more image space around the diaper model(s) (nature, a building, etc.) is totally fine!  We would likely lean towards choosing a landscape oriented image for the landing page of the site, rather than a portrait.*

For this contest there is basically no limit on the number of submissions per family (again very different from the usual!)  We are allowing this because we recognize that you may get several beautiful shots and won't be sure which one to send in.  So let's say no more than 10 per family. ;)

Please note that we retain the option to use multiple photos throughout the site, both from these new submissions and from past photo contests.  The only photo that will receive the ultimate dibs pass is the one we choose for the landing page.  Over time we may rearrange photos.  Should your photo eventually be shown on the landing page that will not mean that you secure an ultimate dibs pass.  We will only award one (1) Ultimate Dibs Pass as part of this impromptu contest.

About the Ultimate Dibs Pass:

This is like a regular Dibs Pass, but entitles the winner not just to claim a diaper for purchase, but to take it home for free. You can use your Ultimate Dibs Pass for any stocked diaper within the next 3 calendar months including the current month (August, September, October). Further instructions will be provided to the winner. 

How do you use your Dibs Pass? A Dibs Pass is a way to bypass the stocking itself – you need only comment on a preview photo on facebook by 10pm EST on preview day with something to the effect of “I am going to use my dibs pass for one of these diapers”, and then follow up with an email to twinkietush@gmail.com so that we can show you specific cuts and velour options. You will then check out with a private link. (Certain prints may not be claim-able via Dibs Pass or Ultimate Dibs Pass and that will be stated during previews. Additionally with certain prints only one Dibs Pass may be used, on a first come first served basis. Again that will be stated along with the preview photos. )

Dibs passes are non-transferable and hold no monetary value.

The twinkie tush Wish List will be re-opening tomorrow!

I am incredibly excited to say that we are about to re-open the twinkie tush Wish List!  This will happen tomorrow - keep an eye on facebook for the announcement! :)

Our last Wish List diaper was sent to a mama who wished for a beautiful girly print featuring a coral color.  This was the closest print we had to her wish - and we are calling it Coralie, after her daughter!

We are so excited to open the list again and draw another winner!  Please read over the information below carefully for instructions, and check out the original Wish List post for info about how all of this came to be! :)

When we open the wish list, you may send an email to twinkietush@gmail.com with "WISH LIST - (your name)" in the subject.  That part is essential.  In your email you must include the following info, using something similar to the format below:

Full name (again)

Current shipping address

Your wish!  This is where you tell us about your dream twinkie tush diaper!  It can be as specific or unspecific as you like. Please see the examples below for more info.

After we close the wish list (opening and closing times will be announced on facebook and the wish list will always be open for at least 24 hours), we will draw a name at random.  This may happen immediately or a few days or weeks after the wish list is closed, depending on our workload.  We will open that person's email and read about their wish.  If it is something we can do, we will make them their dream twinkie tush diaper!  We will cover all costs, including shipping, and we will not notify the winner that their diaper is on the way.  It will just show up at the winner's door! :)  We will always send a wished for diaper within 3 months of the wish.  Please make sure your submitted address is accurate and usable for up to 3 months after sending your email.  If you have a sudden change of address please email us with "WISH LIST - address change - (your name)" in the subject line.

Bear in mind that the less specific your dream twinkie tush diaper wish is, the more likely we will be to have the necessary supplies on hand! ;)  If you only say "Mutiny with black cv, serged", for example, we might have to draw another winner as we don't have that print on hand at present.  But if you say "Mutiny with black cv would be my ultimate dream twinkie tush diaper but I love anything with skulls!" we could defiintely work with that! :)  Here are some examples of wish list emails:

You may only send ONE entry each time the wish list is opened.  If you enter multiple times you will be disqualified.  If you choose, you may use your entry on another's behalf, as in the example below:

Please note - we will NOT be opening and reading any emails that come in for the wish list until we do the drawing.  Therefore we will not see what you write unless you win.  Please do not include anything in your email that requires a response, or that you need us to see at all. ;)  Please ensure that "WISH LIST - your name" is your email subject.  If an email is submitted for the wish list without that subject line it will be deleted.  (Wish List does not have to be in all caps for your email to be accepted.)

Please do not send wish list emails outside of the open time periods.  Any emails that come in outside of the time the list is open will be deleted.

We ask that only ONE entry per household is submitted each time the wish list opens.

You must be a fan of twinkie tush on facebook by "liking" our page in order to win.  This rule is in place only because, as I said, this is a thank you to our fans, both long time fans and newcomers! :)

You may enter every time the wish list is opened until you win! :)  Once you win you may not win again.

While it is not a requirement of entry, we hope that winners will share pictures of their dream twinkie tush diapers on the main fan page and/or fan discussion page!  We will not announce winners ourselves.
